Ha Ha Ho Ho! You Absolutely Freakin’ Slay Me!

The last preview of the X-Mas package has arrived! The X-Mas holiday package will go on sale in the Junk Store beginning Friday, December 17th and will be available until Tuesday, January 4th. Get yours while you can! Without any further adieu, let's take a look at the final part:

Santa's Slay - Exceptional

Statistics

TP: 9

APM: 25

Health: 660

Armor: 4%

Evasion: 10%

Weight: 798 kg

Energy: 240

Energy Regeneration: 2.5/s

Weapon Slots: 2

Turret Slot: 1

Attachment Slot: 1

Engine Slot: 1

Abilities

Resist Freeze: This is a stackable aura that has a 100% chance to resist Freeze ailments.

Actions

Ammo: 1

Deliver Presents - Slow Execution

Cast Time: 4 Seconds

Cost: 1 ammo

Description: Your craft receives any 2 buffs (at random).

Whoa ho! This bright red slay machine (rumor has it that it isn't paint, but the blood of its victims) has its origins shrouded in lore. Repossessed from some crazy old man who claimed to live at the North Pile, the Slay was modified by an unknown mechanic and sold at auction. Now you will have the opportunity to drop this beastie onto the rooftops of unsuspecting enemy crafts and deliver some serious season's beatings.

Here are the changes made to last year's model:

The name - The first and most obvious change. The Sleigh sounded much less awe inspiring than Santa's Slay.

Rarity - The values for this part have been adjusted beyond the normal levels given to rare parts. It is now an exceptional part. I will cover those changes next.

Increased TP - The TP allotment was increased from 8 to 9.

Increased Health - The health of the chassis was increased from 515 to 660.

Decreased Armor - The value for the armor was 7% on last year's Sleigh. We took 3% and applied it to evasion.

Increased Evasion - We upped evade from 7% to 10%.

Decreased Weight - We decreased the weight from 945 kg to 798 kg. This will grant faster piston speed.

Santa's Slay is much sleeker than last year's release. With the extra TP, you will be able to try out even more builds than before. Additional health and evasion should improve combat situations, and with the decreased weight, you will be firing off your actions that much faster. Also, on December 24th at 11:00 pm (EST), a mysterious new achievement will become available...

That's it for the X-Mas previews Junkies. I hope that you enjoyed them!

It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane, It’s... The Rudy?!?

Here is today's X-Mas package preview:

The Rudy

Statistics

TP: 3

Health: 125

Evasion: 5%

Weight: -400 kg

Abilities

Focus: This is a stackable aura that lowers the opponent's evasion by 10%

Lightweight: This part is extra light

Resist Evasion Down: This is a stackable aura that has a 50% chance to resist Evasion Down ailment.

Forget about Red Bull, The Rudy will really give you wings. This magically imbued attachment will drop your craft weight by a whopping 400 kg! This is guaranteed to give you a significant boost in piston speed. With added evasion and evasion related abilities, The Rudy will make you that much harder for your opponent to hit while simultaneously increasing your odds of getting a clear shot.

Here are the changes made to last year's version:

Increased TP – The TP on The Rudy increased from 2 to 3. We felt that the increase in piston speed was worth the added tech point.

Decreased Health – With evasion up and the speed gained from weight decrease, the health granted was cut back from 216 to 125.

Evade up – Evasion increased from 3% to 5%.

Increased negative weight value – This has been changed from -35 kg to a monster -400 kg!

Focus ability added – The Rudy now lowers your opponent's evasion.

Resistance to evasion down reduced – With another added ability and a massive weight reduction grant, this ability was reduced by half to help compensate.

The Rudy will help you get your lighter crafts airborne. With the right builds, you will be able to launch much faster attacks and dodge your opponent's counterstrikes more often. Just pray you don't get hit by too many rams…

That's it for today's preview Junkies. Check back tomorrow for the final X-Mas part preview.

This One Goes Out to All the Ballers

I'm bringing you today the first preview of the holiday parts included in the X-Mas package. Let's get started:

The Snow Baller

Statistics

TP: 2

Health: 90

Armor: 1%

Weight: 65 kg

Ammo: 3

Abilities

Freeze Rounds: On hit, it has a 100% chance to inflict Freeze ailment.

Resist Fire: This is a stackable aura that has a 25% chance to resist fire ailments

Actions

Fire Snow Baller - Fast Execution

Cast Time: 1 Second

Cost: 1 ammo

Description: Inflicts 50 – 60 Elemental damage over 1 second.

This little slush puppy packs quite the punch. With 100% chance to freeze your opponents, you'll be slowin' and mowin' down the opposition. With the added fire resistance, I'm sure that you will find this weapon to be invaluable in certain matchups.

Now to highlight the changes:

First, we left most of the statistics the same from last year. The only change to the first section was a reduction in ammo; from 6 to 3. With strength increases made to the abilities of the part, we felt the ammo reduction was a necessary balance. This makes the Snow Baller feel like an auxillary weapon useful for delaying your opponent's attacks and buying you time to implement various other strategies.

Next, let's take a look at the ability changes. The biggest change to this part is the increased chance to inflict freeze on your opponent. Originally, this part only had a 15% chance to inflict freeze ailment. That has jumped up to a full 100%. We wanted to guarantee that the ability on the Snow Baller could become part of an effective stategy, rather than simply add a minor chance driven bonus. The fire resistance is completely new and was mainly added for flavor reasons. Having a bucket of snow on hand ought to come in handy for dousing flames.

Finally, the damage and cast time of the part was tweaked in step with the ability strength increases. Originally doing 84-112 damage over 2 seconds, we changed it to do 50-60 damage over 1 second. It does less total damage per use (although higher average damage/second), and instead redirects focus to the freeze rounds with a faster implementation time.

That's it for today's preview Junkies. Tune in tomorrow for something that will surely go down in history...

Phwumph! Ow! Those snowballs sting!

Happy Holidays Junkies!

Coming this Friday, we will be re-releasing the X-Mas bundle that debuted this time last year. Included are 3 unique parts not found in core packs: a weapon, an attachment, and a chassis. However, the parts included in the bundle this year are not exactly the same as in last year’s release. If you already have these parts in your collection, you will find that they have changed to reflect modifications we have made once this year’s release becomes available. We have tweaked each part in an effort to make them more flavorful and more fun to use and we hope that you will enjoy battling with them in the weeks to come. Here is a small teaser for some of the X-Mas parts:

The chassis will have a new name and will now be an exceptional part.

The attachment will not only lift your spirits…

And the weapon? All I will say is: FIRE < ICE

Over the next three days, I will be previewing one of these parts each day and highlighting the tweaks that have been made to last year’s versions.

Until tomorrow Junkies,

Announcing Junk Wars!

We will be doing a re-launch of Junk Battles freshly titled as Junk Wars. The game in its current format will have no fundamental differences; we are simply changing the name and making minor cosmetic changes to reflect a new era in the current life of Junk. Daily, we witness more and more Junkies already referring to the game as Junk Wars, and we have decided that rebranding it as such would be in step with other ongoing changes that are being made to the game. Don’t worry, current user accounts for Junk Battles will be ported over and will not be affected by this change.

The initial battles may be over, but the wars have just begun…

Look out Junkies! New achievements coming your way!

We will be releasing a new achievement each week starting Monday, December 13th. Break out your beer coolers, the first new achievement will be ‘College Life’, an achievement earned using the Beer Cart chassis. Drown your sorrows by hammering 20 opponents in the quick match arena. Now go out and get your Beer Carts trashed!
